We're getting married!

Ryan and I met while he was working in probation and I was still in college. Our good friend, Kyle, had actually set us up! After FaceTiming a few times, we went on our first date and we were inseparable ever since. About a month into our relationship, he had to go in to the patrol academy, which he had been waiting for over year to be a part of. While it was hard being away from each other so early on in our relationship, God knew we needed each other before Ryan started his journey with his career. We have been blessed ever since!

Ryan asked me to marry him while we were on vacation visiting my family in North Carolina. We spent the day at Kure Beach visiting the aquarium. After lunch, we took a walk along the beach. We found a log to sit on and enjoy the view. A couple had walked by us and waved. We waved back but I noticed something in Ryan's hand. Then, a monarch butterfly had flown past us and we couldn't help but think of his mom, Peggy, who we miss dearly. As I stood up, he dropped to one knee and said he had something to ask me before we left. I saw his mom's ring and knew exactly what he was going to ask me. I was so quick to hug him, that he didn't hear my answer. He had to ask me, "That was a yes, right?"
