First off, if you're actually reading this, impressive. Secondly, we all know Kathryn is writing this story so rather than pretending and writing from the third person like it's by the both of us, I would like to clarify that this story is very, very much by the first person; myself. Now, on to 'How We Met'. My best friend, Chanelle, and I decided to attend a 4th of July Party in Encinitas. It was at my friend Ryan's house who, unknowingly to me, would host a party that would not only change my life forever but also lead me to an entire community of people that I love to this day. There was a moment I was lingering by myself, scanning the party for my friend before it became noticeable, and that's when I entered the conversation. Marky was tired from a big night before, but had the sweetest disposition to him. He smiled a lot, was very polite, asked for my number, and asked for a kiss. I know, I know but wait for it - it does get romantic. Some how we end up at party number two. We continue the night acting like we've known each other for years, like we've been together for years. The night is wrapping up, and Marky is about to take off in an Uber with his friends when he asks for my sweater. Shocked, I ask why even though looking back on it it's as clear as day why. He told me he needed a reason to see me again, and so I let him take it. Now, this is an important detail. It was a long lace cut-out white sweater with flared sleeves. You'll understand in a second. The next morning he texts me. *good boy*. But this isn't your average "good morning" text, this is a photo. Better yet, this is a selfie. Marky sent me a mirror pic shirtless with my long lace sweater, and I almost spit up my coffee at work. "Ok" I thought, this guy is bold AND funny. The truth is, I didn't really know he was funny until that moment, which goes to show how well behaved he was on night number one. Soon after he would ask me on my second date for drinks at Regal Segal mid-week. Third date I would meet his sister and my now Maid-of-Honor Dionna, his brother-in-law Wes, and his niece and nephew, Layla and Masen. Later that night he would pull over on the side of the road, and ask me to be his girlfriend before meeting up with his friends. From there is history people! From there is how we got here, today :)
