Let's make it official!

We've known each other for years (Northern Michigan, ya know) but it wasn't until a night out at karaoke at City Park Grill in May 2019 that things really began. Josh asked me on a date and assured me he was a "nice guy". I believed him enough to say yes but still drove separately to our first date, a hike in Good Hart, because every murder podcast starts with "He was a nice guy". It was rainy, but that didn't matter. With my dog, Duck, leading the way, we spent the afternoon talking (mostly me) and listening (mostly Josh). We ended the day at Mitchell Street Pub with bowls of white chicken chili with the juke box playing in the background (IYKYK). The first 6 months were spent long distance. I moved to Illinois to spend time with my dad and Josh stayed in Petoskey. We made it work through endless Facetime calls and A LOT of road trips meeting halfway in Grand Rapids and Lansing or one of us making the long drive to each other. Since then, we've built a life of adventure and chaos! We spent a few years in Traverse City, remodeled our home in Alanson, raised two incredible boys, maintaining a house of TOO many animals (3 dogs and 3 cats), and fit any sport we could as both spectators and participants. In September 2023, Josh bought the ring and managed to hold on to it for about 3 days before he couldn't wait any longer. We went on a hike at McCune Nature Preserve with our dogs, where he stopped me on the bridge and proposed. The words didn't come out right way, but the answer was an immediate YES! We can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of the people who have loved and supported us along the way.
