We met at the rodeo our hometown hosted every year through a mutual acquaintance. Some obvious flirting ensued & we stayed up most of the night post-rodeo talking. Two days later we went on our first official date to the mexican restaurant, then for a drive down the backroads to take me back to my house. We saw each other almost every day of the week following the rodeo, & on Friday, June 26th, 2015 Clay told Sarah (while in Tennessee visiting family), "Hey, I told my family that we're dating." Five years later, we're getting married!!
We were at the family lake house for the annual Hibler family lake vacation & Sarah's parents & brother were able to stop by for the evening to visit! Everyone was getting ready to help with dinner after returning to the cabin from swimming when Clay asked Sarah to go down to the dock & get his extension cord off the boat for his grill. It had been a hot, long day so naturally, Sarah didn't want to walk all the way down to the dock for an extension cord. She tried to talk her way out of it for a few minutes before finally caving & going to the dock. While he had her away from the deck, Clay got all of their parents & siblings out onto the porch. When Sarah came up the stairs, Clay was on one knee with a gorgeous ring! Of course, she said yes!
