Cory and I met at in 2015. We both worked at the the Paris Casino in Las Vegas. He would walk through the casino on the way out of work every night and stalk me. As days and weeks went by he finally worked up the courage to stop and say hello. After all this time to come up with a line, he smiled bright and says “I like your tan lines.” Well, you never get a second chance to make a first impression, ha ha, what can I say I was hooked. We began to talk, and soon after I asked him to be my date for a friends wedding. It turned out to be quite an eventful night, and we never looked back.
Cory and I took a trip to Seattle in December of 2018 for a Vikings vs Seahawks game. I know, not the most romantic setting for a wedding proposal, right?! During our trip we happened upon their annual Christmas lighting event being held at the Woodlands Zoo. We walked through the lights, enjoyed the music, drank hot cocoa, party crashed, and subsequently raided the open bar in the VIP tent. We rode on the carousel and played in the snow and unknown to me Cory had been carrying the engagement ring in his pocket all weekend waiting for the right time. To end the night he dropped to one knee and proposed under the huge Christmas tree in front of the whole crowd to a loud ovation when I said “Yes.” I guess a football trip isn’t so un-romantic after all.
