Travel Note
You can easily taxi or bus from Dublin airport if you are not renting a car. The Aircoach is the recommended bus, it stops at many convenient locations (please make sure to check there is a stop located close to your accommodation beforehand).
Rental Car
Hiring a car will give you the most flexibility if you plan to do a little exploring before or after the wedding. If you plan to rent a vehicle, remember that we drive on the left side of the road! The majority of vehicles in Ireland are manual transmission so if you would like an automatic car be sure to specify. Dublin Airport is supplied by a number of car rental companies including Hertz, Budget, Sixt, Avis, Enterprise, Europcar and CARHIRE.ie.
Travel Note
When booking a taxi we highly recommend downloading the Free Now app. This is similar to Uber service. If you plan to use public transport in Dublin we recommend purchasing a Leap Card as they are far more convenient than buying individual tickets and are 30% cheaper. The Leap Card (which can be purchased from most convenience stores) can be used on the bus, the Luas (light rail in city centre), and the Dart (train along the coast).
Travel Note
Marlfield House is located on the outskirts of the small village of Gorey, Country Wexford. Taking the train will be convenient for many as it leaves from central Dublin multiple times per day and takes just under 2 hours. The ride is scenic, winding through Wicklow's hills and farms, and terminates in a centrally located station in Gorey, approximately 5 minutes by taxi to Marlfield House and nearby to many other hotels and B&Bs. Tickets can be booked online www.irishrail.ie. For those interested in renting cars, the drive is approximately 75 minutes.
House Or Rental
We highly recommend all guests from out of town or overseas to book accommodation well in advance. Dublin is a popular tourist spot (especially in the summer) so book early if you can! If you have further questions about accommodation or where to stay etc. please don’t hesitate to reach out to either one of us.
Hotel
Our wedding venue has recommended that we advise guests not to mention they are attending a wedding at Marlifield as in the past other hotels/accommodation in Gorey have quoted higher prices once they are aware of this. A few recommendations from Marlfield House: Seafield Hotel The Ashdown Park Hotel The Amber Springs Hote Dorney’s Bed & Breakfast Rose Garden B&B Clonganny House Tara Hill Lodge Hillside House Carraig View St Therese’s Woodlands Guest House Air BnB Mount Alexander Hyde Park Country House Accommodation

Dublin city centre is a fantastic area to stay for obvious reasons. Downtown is vibrant and fun, buzzing with great restaurants, pubs, museums, parks etc. Some of our favourite neighbourhoods that border the city centre are Ranelagh, Ballsbridge, Donnybrook, Rathmines and Portobello. These areas are within walking distance of downtown and are filled with excellent restaurants, shops, pubs, etc with a more suburban feel. Slightly further afield are areas on the south side of Dublin such as Dun Laoghaire and Sandymount, which are on the coast, very accessible by the DART (train).
