We met like most millennials nowadays... Hinge. Katie saw this adventurous, outdoorsy guy, and was very intrigued. Brian saw a beautiful, funny girl, and was curious to connect. After Katie messaged Brian first, the rest was history.

Our first date was at Superica at Krog Street for drinks. Katie was running late (as usual!) and Brian patiently/anxiously waited for her to arrive. As soon as Katie got there, Brian smiled, gave her a big hug and the remainder of the date was filled with jokes and laughing, an overbearing server also named Brian, and an unanticipated ordering of dinner (by Katie!). In her defense, it was dinner time! Secretly, she didn't want the date to be over so soon so she devised her plan to keep it going by ordering tacos!

Katie had always wanted to see the cherry blossoms in DC so Brian secretly come up with a plan. Spinning it as a "trip to visit her sister and brother-in-law, Sarah & Roy," he took her to see the monuments, walk all around DC, and a sweet proposal under the cherry blossom trees.
