That simple message turned into daily conversations. Good mornings became routine. Random kwentos became our favorite part of the day. And somehow, talking to him felt like catching up with a friend I’ve known for years — a conversation that never ran out, never felt forced, never needed effort. From a stranger in my message requests… to the person I now tell everything to. Funny how one ignored follow request became one of the best decisions I accidentally made. And the rest… is history. 🤍 March 2024 — I planned a Holy Week trip to Albay, mainly to finally see the legendary "Mayon Volcano" in real life and explore the beautiful spots of Bicol. I casually told Joseph about my trip, and that’s when he said something unexpected — he was actually assigned in Polangui, Albay. Then he added, very confidently: “I’ll pick you up at the airport.” Of course I didn’t believe him. I honestly thought, “Talaga ba? Baka ini-scam mo lang ako ah.” 😂 But when the plane landed… upon my arrival at Bicol International Airport there he was. Not a joke. Not a prank. Not just an Instagram boy anymore — but a real person waiting for me. And just like that, our Albay adventure began. We spent days exploring — long drives, sightseeing, laughing over little things, and finally talking face-to-face instead of through screens. The “getting to know each other” stage was no longer through chats and reactions… it was happening in real life. And somewhere between the Mayon views, random kwentos, and quiet moments together, I realized something: He wasn’t just the guy from my message requests anymore. He was genuinely kind… and I had to admit, he was actually a really nice guy. 🤍 After Albay, I went back to my unit… and we went back to our daily routine — chats again, updates again, good mornings and good nights again. Distance returned, but strangely, we never ran out of things to say. Then one very normal day, a very *not normal* message appeared. “Pwede ba kitang ligawan?” I literally laughed and replied, “Sure ka ba?" Apparently… he was very sure. 😌 Because after that came the surprises — flowers, little gifts, thoughtful deliveries. I kept teasing him, “Suhol ba ‘to?” HAHAHA. And then suddenly… may pa “I love you” na rin. (Ang bilis mo naman, sir 😭😂) Honestly, I never expected our love story to go this way. We started as a complete stranger — He was just a random guy on Instagram I once ignored — and I never imagined I would actually end up dating him. Along the courting stage, we traveled to Catanduanes — “The Happy Island” (low-budget Batanes 😂). Somewhere between the waves, the long walks, and quiet prayers, I asked God for a sign… and He gave one. So on June 28, 2024, I finally said yes. I made it official. And until now, I still can’t believe… the same guy I once wondered *“Sino ba ‘to?”* is the same man who eventually asked me to marry him. Sometimes love doesn’t arrive in grand entrances. Sometimes it waits patiently in your message requests… until you’re ready to press CONFIRM. Who would’ve thought one follow request could cross islands of MINDANAO to SOUTHERN LUZON and turn into forever? Looking back, it feels like every delay, every ignored notification, every “seen” message, and every kilometer of distance quietly led us to each other. What started as a follow request became friendship.Friendship became comfort.Comfort became love. And love… became a promise. God’s timing made it better than anything we could have planned. Sometimes the right love doesn’t chase you loudly — it waits patiently, stays consistent, and gently chooses you every single day. Sometimes the love of your life isn’t someone you searched for… it’s the one you almost left in your inbox. HAHAHA “When it’s meant for you, it won’t rush — it will arrive at the exact moment your heart is ready to receive it.”
