How We Met

March 3rd, 2016

It all started with a swipe. Once Sarah saw Brad posing with a giant Conan O’Brien bobblehead she knew a date needed to be set up ASAP. Knowing how sweet Brad’s profile pictures were she knew she had to play it cool, but after a week of chatting back and forth through the app she asked to meet for a drink at a local speakeasy in Seattle. When Brad’s co-workers asked what his plans were for the night he stated, “meeting this woman who is definitely out of my league.” While Brad was waiting outside of the speakeasy Sarah showed up in an Uber in an entrance Brad would later describe as “Bachelor esque.” About halfway through the first drink Brad thought he was bombing the date and was frantically trying to fill the silence in conversation. Sarah meanwhile, was enjoying the night and ordered a second drink. After Brad and Sarah decided to call it a night, Brad offered to give Sarah a ride home, to which she accepted. On the ride home the song “My House” by Flo Rida came onto the radio. Sarah instinctually turned up the volume and started “singing” along. It was at this point Brad knew he had found someone special.

The Proposal

From Tinder to Tanglewood

Brad and Sarah's first getaway together was to Portland, Oregon. It was on this first trip that they visited the Mcmenamin's Kennedy School, an old school that had been bought and renovated into a hotel, restaurant, and many bar compound. With many other Mcmenamin's locations throughout Washington and Oregon, they decided to buy a McMenamin's passport. Sarah asked Brad how long he thought it would take to finish the passport, and Brad responded by saying, "I don't know, maybe 6 months". It was at this point, after having taken their first trip together, and realizing how much her feelings for Brad had grown, that Sarah said, "ok, but you can't propose until after we finish our passports". After many rounds of mini-golf, multiple pumpkin beer festivals, fostering/adopting an anxiety ridden dog, and seeing every Mcmenamin's property in existence Brad knew he had found more than just a “partner in crime, ” he knew he had found his truly better half, his soul mate and someone who is a partner in life in every sense of the word. When the two completed their Mcmenamin's passport on September 9, 2018 Brad got down on one knee and, with the help of Nitro, asked Sarah to marry him. Sarah could barely focus and yelled "YES" before Brad was even able to ask the questions. A highlight video was made which luckily captured it all https://youtu.be/c8kVv3B09Yk We can't wait to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you in New England this Fall!

The Playlist

Shortly after meeting Sarah, Brad started to make a playlist on Spotify of songs he wanted played at or around his wedding. After talks about getting married started between Sarah and Brad he soon invited her to be a collaborator on the playlist. We would love to share the playlist inspiring our special day with all of you too!.
