We're getting married!

We met online by chance. Mikey was visiting a friend who lived less than a mile away, and somehow the timing just worked out. We both showed interest, but Emily made the first move - asking Mikey out to dinner and making the reservation. From the beginning, it felt easy. Emily’s first impression was that Mikey had something she’d never seen before - plus a great sense of humor and very good looks. Mikey was drawn to Emily’s confidence, warmth, and the fact that she knew exactly who she was. On our first date, we closed out the restaurant, just talking and talking, without realizing how much time had passed. It was one of those nights that made everything else fade away. From there, it didn’t take long to realize this was something special. The relationship moved quickly, which intimidated both of us a bit, but it also felt like coming home. Life didn’t wait for us to ease in - we were tested early, learned how to show up for each other, and chose to grow through it together. Our relationship is built on surety, accountability, and a tried-and-true kind of love. We’ve been tested, stretched, and strengthened - and that’s what makes us so certain. Emily most admires how deeply Mikey shows up for the people and things he cares about. Mikey admires Emily’s strength, heart, and the way she moves with intention. Mikey proposed in San Francisco, starting in Japantown with a few close friends before heading to the Palace of Fine Arts. Emily had her inklings, but the moment itself was still a surprise - and felt exactly right. As we look ahead, we’re excited for all the ordinary and extraordinary moments to come - building a life together, creating a home filled with love and laughter, and continuing to choose each other, again and again.
