Too Good to Not Be True...

Cole and Alyssa met when he taught her Bible class 15 years ago.

They felt an instant connection all those years ago. Alyssa had a MASSIVE crush on Cole, and Cole wanted to marry her. Alas their age difference kept them from ever expressing their true feelings for one another, until one night... Fourteen years later Alyssa asked Cole if he'd ever had feelings for her when they were younger. He said, "It's a secret!" But after Alyssa revealed she had feelings, he said, "Me too." At that moment joy and love flooded each of their hearts as their hidden feelings finally came into the light. Cole felt so much joy and excitement that he could hardly sleep. God was bringing "The One" back into their lives, was it too good to be true? They began awakening and drawing out the very best in each other. Praying for each other, sharing worship music that reminded them of their First Love, and encouraging each other towards healing. Each of them began to remember who they truly were. Before long, Alyssa was shining and having a spiritual re-awakening, and Cole was experiencing the same. Their wells of abundant life had been stifled by years of pain, loss, shame, and believing lies about who God had designed them to be. BUT GOD pulled the rubble out of their wells until they became a fresh spring of life! Their friendship grew over the months, and, when Alyssa came to South Carolina for a friends wedding, Cole could not stop seeing her the way God saw her. She was the same virtuous princess he remembered from years before, but better! On her visit, they went for a walk by the Catawba River, and Cole asked to hold Alyssa's hand. She said no. The honor Cole felt for her swelled even greater. This was truly a noble woman; was it all too good to be true? After a few more dates, including a date watching The Chosen, he asked her to be his girlfriend. She said no. Would Cole give up on "The One"? No, he'd already let this angel slip through his hands once, fifteen years before. He knew she was a Godly woman worth wooing and a noble pursuit. After the Lord got through to Alyssa's heart, she realized the honor it was to be invited into Cole's life and the treasure she was being given in his heart. Considering the presence of the sweetest little Brooklyn, Cole's son, Alyssa was taking this seriously. She requested that Cole meet with several important men in her life to get their blessing first. Cole was thrilled at the challenge because he'd never met a more valuable woman in all of his days. Cole got the blessing to court this fair princess. When he asked Alyssa to be his girlfriend a second time, she said yes. He considered it the happiest day of his life. To Cole's chagrin, she lived SO far away! 685 miles away! How would their love grow? Was this all too good to be true? When would Cole ever see Alyssa in person again? Just when it seemed that the distance might be too great, Cole discovered that Alyssa would have a layover in his town. She asked him if he might be able to come see her, even though she had a short layover. That night, Cole bought a plane ticket to sneak past airport security and meet the one he's always been destined to be with at her gate. They shared what Cole would consider the most precious moments of his life that night. Alyssa asked Cole to fly down to visit her, which he did. The love they experienced during that four day weekend was more than some couples share in a lifetime... On that same trip, Alyssa asked her mother if she might pass on her wedding ring to her... it turns out that God was always writing their love story, and He only writes stories that are too good to not be true.
