Our mutual friend, Kim Larson, invited Haley to her small group which was hosted at Gabriel's home. Haley was immediately interested, but apparently, she didn't pique Gabriel's interest until a few months later.

Gabriel's roommate, Michael Anderson, invited Valerie, Gabriel, and Kim to go hot tubbing at his parents. Unfortunately, Kim wasn't able to go, so Michael invited Haley instead. She wasn't quite sure what would happen, but she said yes anyway, even without knowing who would all be there. After long conversations about theology, politics, upbringing, and more, Gabriel decided Haley was worth getting to know–even if it was only for friendship. However, Haley thought he would never have an interest because she probably wasn't his type, so she tried not to think about him too much.

After the hot tub, Gabriel started following Haley on Instagram and "innocently" messaged her about things on her story or asked her questions about her gym. Haley jumped at the chance to interact with him so she allowed him to keep making conversation. One day, Gabriel share a picture of bacon he had piled onto a frozen pizza. Haley commented back saying the real way to eat pizza was with avocado. Intrigued, Gabriel continued the conversation and they eventually came to the conclusion that they needed to have a pizza party to make their own concoctions together.

Haley thought Gabriel's suggestion for a pizza party was just like when people suggest to get together but never make plans. Both of them were going on road trips right after the suggestion, and Haley thought for sure that he would forget and they would never make pizza together. But to her surprise, the day he got home from his trip he sent her a DM saying, "When is this pizza party?" Her response, "Tuesday?" That Tuesday, they got a group of friends together and they each made their own personal pizzas with fun different ingredients.

After the pizza party night, Gabriel and Haley hung out every night for two weeks straight. From movie nights at his or her home to late-night bluff hikes, Haley and Gabriel were inseparable. After a week, Gabriel asked Haley out to HuHot on a Friday night. Soon after, Gabriel asked her to be his girlfriend and the rest is history.
