Best Man
I’ve known Bill all my life. We've literally grown up together being that our families attended First Baptist Campostella. We also were in preschool together. We used to spend the night over each other’s houses playing video games, if we weren’t outside playing sports. So, we’ve always been boys. I’m just proud of who he’s become and I’m excited for this next step in his life. I’m thankful to be able to call him a friend and a brother.

Bill and I have known each other since his entire life (3 years older). Our families attend the same church and over the years have become very close. Whether it was playing sports or clowning during church our relationship has truly grown over the years. He’s like the little (big) brother I never had. Every time we are together it is sure to be a good time filled with jokes and laughter. I am extremely proud of the man Bill has become. Sherricka tremendously blessed to have gained such a great partner in marriage.

Welp, our life of crime and delinquency started in the last place you’d expect... in church 🤦🏽♂️ I meet Bill in the musicians corner at FBCC my freshman year at ODU. After a few rehearsals we managed to sound fairly decent lol. As we grew musically so did our friendship. From day one it was all laughter and love. His family watched over my sister and I like we were one of their own. It’s feels short but that was 8 1/2 years ago! Time has molded you into a great man Bill, and I’m glad I could witness it all!

My friendship with Bill goes back many years. What started as being around each other in high school band turned into a lot of brotherly memories. After I graduated college in 2011, I literally was hanging at Bill's house every day. Although there were many times we were doing stuff we shouldn't have, it was always fun and love. Whether we were sitting in the car making music, playing basketball and football with the church, or even working together, these are just a few times that I will always remember. We have literally watched each other grow up to the mature gentlemen we are today and I can't be any more proud of Bill! He is not only my lifetime friend but rather my brother and I'm happy to have had the chance to meet a person like him. Keep pushing and stay blessed! I love you bro.

It all started in 2006, we were in concert band class on the first day of school. We both played trombone so that brought us together. We laughed, joked, and had a ball in concert band that year. In 2007, we had our first battle of the bands and all of the preparation brought us even closer. We began to hang out outside of school and attend each other's churches. From then on, we became such close friends that we referred to each other's mother as "Ma". Life has taken us on different paths since high school, but when we link up, it's just like that first day of concert band 2006!

I met Sherricka some years ago in middle school and we became friends through our fathers. We’ve had some great childhood memories. My favorite memory are the ones that we got from high school, you know...”that one time at band camp....🤣”! Although distance came between us after high school our friendship never missed a beat! I’m beyond grateful to call her my best friend. I wish her and Bill nothing but the best on their union. Love you guys!

Sherricka has been my friend since the halls of Clark Magnet. Not only have we shared in great times together in Murphy High School band and color guard but we also cultivated a friendship that has lasted over 15 years. Whether it was a rehearsal, weekend hangout at BWW, or a text to make sure each other is ok, her friendship has meant the world to me. Dr. Grannum is like a sister to me and I am honored to support her on the road to Mrs. Holmes!

Sherricka and I have been friends since our blue and gold days at Murphy High School. We were in the band together and share so many priceless memories from traveling to home games at Ladd Stadium to traveling to Ohio for our Winterguard competition. It was easy for us to keep in touch after high school and every time she was home from school we always tried to catch up. My prayer for Sherricka and William is that their marriage is as beautiful as their wedding day will be. I cannot wait to stand by her side on her special day.

I met Sherricka at a Mardi Gras Ball seven years ago and we have been great friends ever since. Sherricka is one of my most loyal friends. Even though we are miles apart she has always been there when I needed her. One of my most memorable moments with Sherricka is during the summer my friends and I would always plan beach trips just for a change of scenery. No road trip was complete without including a Master P tracks to our road trip playlist. Oh the memories. It’s never a dull moment when we reconnect.

Sherricka and I are first cousins. I was there when her mom brought her home from the hospital, therefore I’ve known her her entire life! I’ve watched Sherricka grow into an intelligent and ambitious young woman. My fondest memory of Sherricka is when she came to visit me when I was in undergrad. She got to experience a little college and sorority life for the first time that weekend. I am so proud of the woman that she has become. I pray that God covers her marriage and allow her and Bill to continue to grow together in all ways. The greatest gift that God can give is love. May your union be blessed with a lifetime of love and joy.

I met Sherricka while in college; both biology majors, we began conversing in physics class and become closer when we pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., in 2008. Although not blood related, she is a sister in more than one way.

I met Bill through mutual friends(brothers) Reggie and Joey on the campus of Hampton University. Since that day Bill has treated me like a brother. We didn’t grow up together but I’ve seen the personal growth he’s made. I’m proud of you bro! Best of luck to you and Sherricka!
