Fish Camp - Session: C - Large Group: Camp Roach - Small Group: Llamas and Hedgehogs Are Tight, Yo! Holly and Tyler met at one of Texas A&M's well-known traditions known as Fish Camp. At Fish Camp, current students spend three days teaching the incoming freshmen about all the school traditions and life at Texas A&M. The two strangers happened to be attending the same session of Fish Camp, and what's more is that they were even in the same small group of 8 students! The first real conversation started after Tyler had overheard Holly say that she was a huge fan of the band The Black Keys. Some time later, Tyler - in the smoothest way - whistled the only song he knew by the band (“Tighten Up”), and upon praise from Holly he proceeded to claim The Black Keys as one of his favorite bands. This started a weekend of spending most of their time together talking about actual common interests like Coldplay, baseball/softball, and their killer senses of humor. It was then that Tyler discovered his affinity for Holly. To close out the weekend, each small group had the opportunity to put on a skit for their larger group of 100 or so freshmen and their respective counselors, to highlight what they learned as well as poke fun at their counselors. The skit for Tyler and Holly's small group involved a relationship between two counselors resulting in a marriage proposal. Well, Holly happened to be playing the girl and Tyler the guy, and so on the third day of knowing each other, Tyler got down on his knee and proposed to Holly (evidence located in the Photos page of this website). Holly rejected Tyler's faux-posal and the two went on to remain friends during the next semester. In 2013, they started dating and 6 years later, Tyler went for it one more time.
