Maid of Honor
Jenny is Holly's older sister and has been a tremendous support in Peter & Holly's relationship. She was (and still is) like a second mom to Holly. Jenny has watched and helped Holly grow into the woman she is today. Jenny is the life of the party -- whether it be going to Jay's game, shopping, or a good night out on the town; there isn't much that Jenny & Holly haven't experienced together. One of Jenny's favourite past times is creating nicknames for Peter or asking him for math help. It was a no-brainer when Maid of Honour had to be chosen for this day -- the wedding would not be possible without having Jenny stand beside her sister in this role.
Maid of Honor
Technically speaking, Lauren is Holly's sister-in-law, but is more like a true sister. Lauren and Holly have known each other for 14 years and they have been through more experiences & life events then able to list. They bonded very soon after Lauren got introduced into the family and through vacations, proof-reading nursing assignments, or just hanging out -- there have been plenty of laughs and tears together along the way. Lauren has been and continues to be a great support and mentor in Holly's life & gets along greatly with Peter sharing many quirky habits. The wedding day would not be complete without her as part of the bridal party as co-maid of honour.
Bridesmaid
Melissa is Holly's cousin, but these "sisters" are two peas in a pod. Five minutes cannot pass without these two laughing out loud & enjoying each other's company greatly - creating many fond memories to reminisce on later. They have supported one another through many aspects of life and have been through more experiences than imaginable. Holly can share anything with Melissa judgement free & solid/sound advice will always be provided when needed. This constant love and support can be seen as Melissa stands beside Holly on her wedding day!
Bridesmaid
Leanne is one of Holly's closest & oldest friends. Their friendship has grown over the past 10 years into a close sisterhood -- they first meet in early high school while working at Longo's. Leanne has been present for many aspects of Holly's teenage/early adult years providing constant friendship and support. Many laughs and memories have been created over this time. Days can go by without communication, but these two are able to pick up where they left off as if no time had passed at all. It is refreshing to see how well Leanne & Peter get along, perhaps it is because they share a special bond of being born on the same day! Holly is thrilled to have Leanne as part of her wedding party and couldn't imagine it any other way!
Best Man
The man that would move mountains for us (and sometimes climb them at his own peril). Ramzi and Peter became friends as they worked on their Master's together, and their friendship has only grown in the years afterwards. Ramzi has been there for us from the beginning. He is generous, good-humoured, and a decent singer of “Don’t Stop Believing”. His big boisterous laugh is only matched by his big heart.
Groomsman
Always reliable for a good time, Mike has been helping Peter (only somewhat successfully) let loose and unwind. However, since sharing classes during undergrad years ago, Mike’s and Peter’s friendship has evolved. Beneath his easy-going ways is a warm and generous person, and it is because of this that Holly and Peter continue to greatly value Mike’s friendship.
Groomsman
Jeff was Peter's best friend in high school. There, they were often found at “the hallway” for lunch, the Kingston Road Tim Horton’s for a good rant, or at Julian’s place where Peter would invariably get badly defeated playing videogames like James Bond (Although Peter’s MarioKart game was decent!). Some things don’t change, like Peter’s videogame skills (or lack thereof) and his friendship with Jeff.
Groomsman
Close friends from medical school, Byron was the reason these grueling years were so enjoyable. From bike rides to Wolf Island and other random adventures, to just having an escape from the workload, Byron was always there to lighten the mood. Even with Byron’s move to Nova Scotia, Holly and Peter manage to visit often and continue to create new adventures. Special mention to Leo (Byron’s dog) who might have replaced Byron as a groomsman if canines were allowed ;)
Groomsman
Robert and Peter are friends from high school, and their friendship has only been growing since. Charismatic with a sharp sense of humour and style, Robert is the definition of a man who will always have your back. Much like an “old fashioned” – Robert’s drink of choice – he’s a no-nonsense kind of person and wise beyond his years. And he does all of this with an infectious smile and laugh.
