Our first date was at Rainier Growlers in Puyallup. We had drinks and played Scrabble and Battle Ship. We talked so openly and easily with each other that we even surprised ourselves with how easy and effortless it was.
We took our first weekend trip together to Ocean Shores and stayed in the cutest tiny home cabin close to downtown. We walked the beach, went looking for "love rocks" (pretty rocks that Holly likes to pick up and make Mike carry in his pockets), and walked around town. That night while playing games and having drinks Mike said "I love you" for the first time, and I very happily said it back!
We moved in together! In a cute little grey duplex with a red front door, we have really made it feel like a home!
Mike planned a weekend away for my birthday as a surprise and wouldn't tell me where we were going. I took a nap on the drive and when I woke up we were in Sequim at an Air BNB. He told me we were going to go up to Hurricane Ridge in the morning to take some photos together which I loved. The next day, on the drive up, the parking lot at Hurricane Ridge was full with a VERY long line and wait. I suggested we go do something else but he was adamant that we take photos together in the snow. We found a nice private spot with an amazing view. I set up my camera and we started taking pictures. We took one before Mike turned to me and said "Keep taking pictures okay?". He dropped to one knee and I immediately started crying. Then he pulled out what looked like a necklace box and I panicked that I was crying for no reason. Until he opened it and I saw a ring on a wand in the box! He asked me tp marry him and I said "of course!". Afterwards, he surprised me by taking me to my parents house for a surprise birthday, turned engagement, party with my family and Lauren.
