FAQs

If you have any questions that are not on our website, please feel free to reach out to us or our family so we can help answer your questions!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please send us your RSVP cards by November 17, 2021. With Thanksgiving approaching, we want to ensure we have our final numbers before the holiday so we can communicate in a timely manner with our vendors. If you do not RSVP and we are ultimately unable to get in contact with you to confirm your status, please do not show up to avoid any complications. Unfortunately, there will not be a meal or seat provided to you if this happens.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 pm. Please make sure you arrive prior to that time so you can secure your spot and to avoid any distractions by arriving late.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invite specified that you are allowed a guest, then yes you can! We kindly ask that you do not invite someone if you are not given a plus one.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Your RSVP card will indicate how many seats are reserved for you. Additionally, your invite will be addressed to those guests that are invited. If you do not see your child’s name on the invite, we kindly ask that you do not bring your child.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

All hotel recommendations are listed on the travel page of our wedding website. Some hotels may have limited rooms available due to the holidays.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony/reception?

Answer

There will be limited parking spots in the parking lot at Veterans Terrace. If you have a room at the Hampton Inn across the street, it is a short walking distance to the venue. Otherwise, there may be street parking available or designated parking lots. Be cognizant of snow plows and winter weather conditions.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

On the RSVP card, we have provided a few dietary accommodations that can be provided if you indicate that you need it: gluten free, vegetarian, or a kids meal. There will be a small selection of gluten and dairy free cupcakes at the reception. If there are any additional requests you may need, please feel free to personally reach out to us so we can work with you and your needs.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding to social media?

Answer

We are having an unplugged wedding. We are requesting that during the ceremony, please keep your cellphones tucked away in your jackets, pockets, purses, etc. We have an amazing photographer and videographer that will be capturing everything. You are more than welcome to take pictures during cocktail hour and/or the reception. If you share anything on social media, please use our hashtag #NeuYearNeuWidmar so we can find all your photos!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask our guests to please come dressed in semi-formal attire. That includes dresses, jumpsuits, or a nice shirt and pants/skirt for the ladies and a nice pair of dress pants and button down with or without a jacket for the gentlemen. Please keep in mind that although everything will be inside, it will be winter in Wisconsin! Keep an eye on the forecast the week of the wedding so you can come prepared.

Question

What precautions will be in place for COVID?

Answer

With the everchanging COVID situation, we understand and respect your decision if you choose not to attend! If you do attend, masks are not required, but you are more than welcome to wear one if you so choose. Ideally, it would be great if you are vaccinated to help protect yourself and others, especially our older guests or those that are considered higher risk, but it is also not required. We want everyone to have a good time, but your health and safety are just as important. If you feel sick or show any symptoms or come into known/suspected contact with someone with COVID leading up to the wedding, we respectfully ask you to stay home. Symptoms include: NEW ONSET OR WORSENING fever, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, cough, sore throat, diarrhea, chills, congestion, runny nose, loss of taste or smell, headache, fatigue, or muscle/body aches.
