We met in the spring of 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia, where Malory is from and Holly attended mortuary school. Anyone who knows us at all, knows what kind of work we do, so naturally we were fated to meet on the job while working at the same funeral home. For us it was not love at first sight but rather death. Malory was kind enough to allow Holly in on an embalming and we connected over anatomy and small talk about music and junk food. After a few months of getting to know each other at work, Malory decided to abandon the portal to hell that we called our workplace, and took a new job. This was the prime oppurtunity for Holly to ask her on a date. Since we no longer worked together this avoided any kind of awkward encounters while in a professional setting. Malory or course said yes, because Holly is that irresistible, and we went out on our very first date over the summer to Victory Sandwich Bar followed by ice cream. Fast forward to the fall, Holly tried to dump Malory after accepting a job in Portland, Oregon. She quickly realized that was a massive mistake and quickly asked Malory for forgiveness and to move across the entire continental United States to give their relationship a real shot. Malory reluctantly agreed. Holly left the day after Thanksgiving on the road trip of a lifetime with her dear friend Karen. They made it to the PNW a week later. Holly and Malory survived the long distance part of their relationship and started their lives together one year later after meeting, in the spring of 2016 when Malory joined her in Portland.
