We most definitely don't remember the first time we met. We were probably somewhere between the ages of 3 and 5. Instead, our love story was gradual, and then it grew so fast that it stretched across miles and miles. Growing up in the small town of Shelburne, VT, we attended the same elementary school, church, Christian education classes, and high school. It wasn't until high school that we became next-door neighbors and then quickly best friends. Lucas was the class clown, and I was the student body president. What can I say, opposites attract. We first went to Winterball together, then Prom, and then spent what seemed like every weekend together. It was a Ridgefield Road Romance. I went off to North Carolina, and Lucas went off to Massachusetts. Every time we saw each other over holidays and summer vacations, it was like nothing ever changed. I then moved to New Jersey and Lucas was back in Vermont. Again, no matter the distance, nothing ever changed. Morristown weekends were spent going out to dinner and searching for hiking trails and soccer fields. Weekends in Vermont were spent hiking real mountains and catching up with high school friends. Fast forward to December 2016, we decided it was time to get married and finally live in the same place again. Lucas surprised me with a proposal on the beach in Florida at sunset. (I am not sure how he will ever top that Christmas present.) We've now started our life together in Boston, close to family and friends. We can't wait to celebrate our love story with all of you...in Vermont, where our love story began!
