It was a hard decision, but he have decided to keep the courthouse ceremony and the afternoon luncheon to family/wedding party only. We have already spoken to the people who are attending those events. If you're not immediate family and you haven't heard from us about that, then we would be so fortunate if you could join us at the pub for the reception/after-party that goes from 6:30pm til 1:00am.
The reception is at a pub so HELL YEAH there will be drinks! Joe and I are putting a few grand behind the bar, which will hopefully cover most of the drinks. The pub that we have chosen is doing a collab with a local pizzaria nearby so we will be ordering pizza for party nibbles. There is no formal sit down dinner. If you're going to stay all night long to party, I would say have dinner before and grab some pizza as a dance snack.
ABSOLUTELY! When Joe and I spoke about what we wanted for our wedding, we both envisioned all of our favourite people gathered together on a dance floor. The room that we have booked will have a dance-floor, DJ, full bar, booths on the side to have chats, games, etc. We're so excited!
6:30pm - 1:00am Feel free to drop by whenever you can and stay for as long as you want!
The Old Queen's Head Islington in the Club Room located on the second floor. 44 Essex Rd, Islington, London, N1 8LN The easiest way to get to the pub would be traveling by tube to either Angel Station (northern line) or Highbury & Islington Station (victoria line). The pub is about a 10/15 minute walk from either station.
As this is a pub disco, of course it's on the casual side; however, it is still a party and we want to take lots of fun pictures, so I would say dress to impress! Please look at the gallery page for some inspiration. The wedding party will be in bright, summery pops of colour - so sticking to the theme, it would be fun of you could also come in bright fun disco party attire. Colour, texture, patterns, sparkles and feathers are encouraged. Short dresses, long dresses, tea-length, two-pieces, dressy pants are all perfect!

Please look at the gallery page for some inspiration. Think about what you would wear out to a nice meal on holiday. A nice pair of trousers and some smart shoes (nice trainers are fine, you don't have to wear dress shoes). For the top, something with a collar but it's ok if it's short sleeve - whatever you're the most comfy in. If you want to wear a sports coat/suit jacket and a t-shirt, that would be awesome too, but not at all required.
ABSOLUTELY! You can bring multiple plus ones. We want this to be a big, fun party so the more the merrier! Bring your partner, best friend, flatmate, their best friend, work crush - whoever! Just put that on your RSVP (or message us) so we have an idea for numbers. The reason why we kept the courthouse to an intimate, family-only event, was so that we could have a fun after party where everyone gets to bring someone for a boogie.
As soon as possible would be helpful for numbers but we understand people have lives and work schedules etc. so don't stress. If you show up on the night with some extra friends, we will welcome you with open arms and a tequila shot.
Sadly no, it is not a full open bar as weddings are so expensive ): womp womp. Joe and I are putting a few grand behind the bar and getting pizza and bar snacks, which we hope will go far! I know that all of our friends and family love a drinkie so at some point the tab might run out. Thank you for understanding xx
As this is a small wedding that so many of you are traveling for, taking off work for, potentially buying your own drinks at the pub etc. we are BEYOND grateful that you guys are even coming to celebrate with us. "Your presence is presents enough," coined by my sister Katie, is exactly how we feel about this. However, we know some of you are extra, super persistent and still want to get us a wedding gift, so we have a registry page that you can look at. We are mostly raising funds for our honeymoon - please see our registry page for more details.
More details to be confirmed but I'm interested. I know our wedding is on a Thursday, but a lot of you are traveling internationally/ from other parts of England and we would love to keep the party rolling if we can find something.
Please keep an eye on the website as we might add some things closer to the time, such as information on an after-after party or potential (optional) events for the people who are traveling from out of town. Also, feel free to message Me or Joe any time (we love talking about our wedding).
