We were each in the throes of getting acclimated to life away from home during our first year at Duke, and we clearly didn't leave a lasting impression on each other the first time we met. One day, early on in our college careers, we simply became friends. Though we don't have the perfect storybook "meet-cute", we are very thankful for the admissions person who decided to put us both in the same freshman dorm, Pegram. Coming from opposite sides of the globe, we met at exactly the right time and in exactly the right circumstances.
