Accommodation

There are a few different options for accommodation. 1. If you are coming in a large group that will require multiple rooms, an AirBnb might be the most budget friendly. Center the search around Ridgefield, Connecticut. 2. We have a group block at the Ethan Allen Hotel. 3. Planning a NYC trip? You can just book a hotel in NYC and come by train to the wedding (see Train section for more details.) If the times do not suit you, an uber usually costs approx $100 from Ridgefield to NYC, and slightly more the opposite way. Even if you want to visit NYC on your trip, for more cost effective accommodation you can stay closer to the venue and use the train to get in and out of Manhattan during your stay. We have a hotel block at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury! Click the link below to use the discount - standard rooms are $175 a night. If the current nights available are not enough, please let us know and we'll do our best to extend the dates. If you'd prefer to call, just reference Lysaght/Rogers to receive the rate.

Flight

Flying To NY/Connecticut

For flying in, the easiest airports are JFK, LaGuardia or Newark. If travelling domestically, Hartford and Westchester County Airport (White Plains) are options as well. Although some of those airports are on the other side of Manhattan, taxis can easily bypass the city and it is approximately $110 dollars to get from these airports to Ridgefield using Uber. This can be cost effective if travelling in groups. Otherwise, use the button below to see details on how to get from the NYC airports to Manhattan. Once there, follow the instructions in the train section to continue on to Ridgefield. We will likely be proving a shuttle from JFK to Ridgefield on Wednesday, depending on numbers. More details TBD.

Flight

Airline Info For International Travels

Remember if travelling from Ireland or another international country, you will need an ESTA or other visa to enter the United States. Due to covid travel restrictions constantly changing, please be careful booking flights and make sure they are refundable or your insurance covers changes. Make sure to check if there are any other requirements needed for your country. The United States is currently still requiring all visitors to be vaccinated when entering.

Local Travel To Sunset Hall

Once in the area, there are a number of ways to get to Sunset Hall. 1. Uber and Lyft are taxi apps which are commonly used in the United States. If being dropped off at Sunset Hall, you can request your driver to continue through the gates which open automatically and be dropped off at the door. 2. If you have a car, we will have a valet available. Please continue through the gates and follow the signs for valet drop off.

Train

Getting the Train to and from NYC

You are able to get to Ridgefield using the Metro North Railroad, on the blue Harlem Line. To take the train, go to Grand Central station in Manhattan. The closest station to Sunset Hall is called 'Katonah'. At Grand Central, buy a ticket from Grand Central to Katonah and then watch the board for the Harlem line departures - you should be able to see what platform the train is on. You can also check online. Below is a link to see the MTA train schedules, which you can use closer to the wedding when planning. At Katonah station we will have shuttle buses running on the wedding day (details TBD). If these times do not work it is approx a 10 min Uber. If you are staying closer to the venue, you can also use this train to get in and out to Manhattan. Hotel and Airbnb prices can be cheaper further from the city, so it could be easier to stay near Ridgefield. Just look at the MTA map and try to stay close to the train line.
