The date that was not supposed to be a date... She was not told it was a date, but I still count it. She thought we were meeting a group of friends, but little did she know that was never the intention. We went bowling where I kept the game close before winning in the end (as always ha). I then convinced her to go to Dairy Queen and we ate ice cream in the parking lot. Little did I know that she did not like ice cream and just wanted to keep the date going. And on our drive back I "accidentally" took a wrong turn so we began looking at Christmas lights until I unfortunately had to drop her off.
It started with a slight breakdown on Holly's part after the shower flooded the entire bathroom of our hotel room in Rome, Italy. After that, we walked in the pouring rain to find a place to eat. Following an amazing Italian dinner and a little bit too much Chanti red wine, we headed over to the Trevi fountain. Upon arriving, I began walking Holly back and forth across the fountain, trying to find the photographer that I hired to capture the special event. I saw him and proceeded to pull Holly down the steps to the right edge of the fountain. After ten minutes of coin throwing and Holly volunteering to take another couple's photo, it was finally the perfect opportunity for me to get down on one knee. She said yes (surprisingly) and the crowd at the Trevi Fountain went wild with applause. We are now excited to start our next chapter of our lives and can't wait to share our wedding day with all of you.
