On the weekend of EJ's graduation we decided to spend the day before in downtown Chicago. We'd been planning this day for weeks & the goal was to spend a nice day out on the town while showing around a few friends; who were in town for EJ's special day. The day started off by us missing the first train into Chicago & nearly missing the second. All tensions were high but we decided to not let the rough start ruin our spirits. Ej mentioned that we would stop by an old friend's place but Tamaria was skeptical... MAINLY because Ej had never mentioned this friend before.... Throughout the day there were pictures by the infamous chicago bean, ice skating downtown, hot cocoa & tons of shopping. While shopping Ej stated he would be leaving the group of friends early to meet up with his old pal a little early & the frustration on Tamaria's face was very clear. Despite her disapproval Ej plead his case & made his way to his friend's apartment without the group. The rest of the friends made their way through the wintery mix of Chicago's downtown & began to get tiresome after walking aimlessly for an hour or two. Finally our minds were made up and we would join Ej with his old buddy. We ubered to the address sent via text message & met EJ on the bottom floor. He pressed the skydeck button in the elevator & we all assumed we would take in the sights from the rooftop of his friend's apartment complex. Ej took Tamaria's hand & led her to a book in between 12 candles in the shape of a heart. Ej motioned to Tamaria to pick up the book which happened to be a bible with the name Tamaria Ann Hibbler at the bottom. Tamaria told Ej how grateful she was for the bible but Ej insisted she open up the book to a bookmark that had been preset. She opened the book and read the verse Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord. At this moment Tamaria faced Ej with tears running down her face, he was on one knee & the rest was history.
