Check in is not until 3pm, so if you would like to go to the pool when you land before getting to your room, be sure to pack your chnage of clothes in a bag that is easily accessible as the concierge will hold your bags.
While tipping is not required at the resort, it is a nice courtesy to the staff to tip them. A few dollar bills can go a long way at the bar! Also a nice courtesy to tip the driver for your transportatiion to and from the airport. Cash works perfect for all tipping, and no need to convert to Pesos.
When checking in you can ask or anytime while in your room, call the front desk and ask them to come and stock your fridge with water bottles and beer :)
The resort is very large. Golf carts are almost always necessary for getting around the resort. There are little huts where the carts are always driving by outside of all buildings, but you may also call from your room and ask to have one come at a specific time to get you. It never takes more than 3-5 minutes for one to drive by for you to jump on.
Bring some form of a stainless steel cup for drinks when you are pool side! Much better than the cups they use by the pools, and more can go in it.
