As the plague continues to pervade in these lands, we must make appropriate accommodations for the health and comfort of the company. In this regard and in accordance with the laws of the land, we ruefully announce that we must limit our festivities to only those who have received proper vaccination well in advance of traveling. In addition, we politely ask that all attendees also don a facial covering that is appropriate to their attire. Knowing these measures prevent some of our greatest supporters from being with us in person, we have obtained the ability to stream our ceremony through the use of the world-wide wizard as it happens on our special day and hope to celebrate with all sans restrictions at a future time.
Yes! You may follow and view our ceremony when it comes time (around 4 O'Clock) through Chapel Dulcinea's feed on https://chapeldulcinea.org/livestream/
Due to the circumstances of our wedding, we MUST limit the number of guests present for our special day to only those that have received our raven. Therefore, only invited guests will be admitted, so we advise that you view this opportunity to adventure away from your home as a retreat. (Put plainly, your invitation is an "ADMIT ONE ONLY" unless otherwise specified by the ink.)
We are choosing to do an "unplugged" experience, so yes and no. We have enlisted the talents of a dedicated photographer and dedicated videographer, so in order to allow all of us the most immersed experience, we please ask that you REFRAIN from capturing your own memories of us and this event while these professionals are at work. We also want to see you and have you be fully with us rather than see you through your lens and gadgets (ESPECIALLY during the ceremony and reception). That being said, there WILL be opportunities for guests to capture memories of us, the scene, and themselves at designated times, which we will inform guests of. If you choose to capture moments, we would LOVE for you to share them with us and others through our running wedding hashtags, #Hollenbeck2TheFuture and #HollenbeckToTheFuture.
In order to help us be immersed in our fantasy wedding, we require our guests to cosplay using their fullest imagination (though we respectfully ask the ladies to avoid anything that could mistaken them to be the bride). We strongly encourage all guests to consider cosplays that have or work in masks and a warm cover on order to prepare for any outside circumstances (plague, cold, wind, etc.). We also strongly encourage all guests' cosplays/costumes to be prepared and in-hand by October 31, 2021.
Cosplay is the act of impersonating a character from fantasy books/comics, movies/TV shows, and video games through dress (and sometimes persona).
If you feel the need for MORE guidance, we advise you use some of the bride and groom's FAVORITE fandoms for inspiration: Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Last Kingdom, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Skyrim, and The Witcher We strongly encourage all guests to consider cosplays that have or work in masks and a warm cover on order to prepare for any outside circumstances (plague, cold, wind, etc.). We also strongly encourage all guests' cosplays/costumes to be prepared and in-hand by October 31, 2021.
Yes. Guests who decide not to cosplay will be transformed using appropriate party favors by the bride and groom's "Time Warp" into sweet transvestites from Transsexual, Transylvania (à la The Rocky Horror Picture Show), so choose wisely.
Huzzah! We are pleased to announce that we will be attending the Texas Renaissance Festival on their final day of the 2021 season on Sunday, the Twenty-Eighth of November. This is during Celtic Christmas weekend at the largest public gathering of its kind in these lands, and all our friends and family (including kids and partners) are very much welcome! Start out to the right of the festival and make your way in a counterclockwise fashion to find us in our Confessor and Witcher garb.
Whereas the conservative & "traditional" timeline would have a couple wed then celebrated through a reception before the newlyweds traveled for a honeymoon then rooted to a place through the building of their future legacy (home, kin, etc.), our story takes us almost entirely in reverse. Therefore, we thought it witty to play on Justin's surname and label our upcoming union as #Hollenbeck2TheFuture and/or #HollenbeckToTheFuture, an appropriate homage to one of Justin's favorite stories as a child. The use of the number 2 is also symbolic in many ways, primarily in that it is not only shorthand for "to", but also represents that it takes 2 to become a team.
