We were brought together by UVM softball (...Boo Bob). Caroline, tagging along with a mutual friend, arrived at Hollan's home in Colchester, Vermont for a summer barbeque. What started as a Friday night hangout, turned into a weekend-long celebration complete with games of polish horseshoes, a late night trip to Akes Place, adventures at the driving range, movies on the couch, and of course, the first of many team meetings over a glass of Forbidden Fruit. Hollan soon left Vermont to start her clinical rotations, but the two would prove to be inseparable from that weekend on.
After years of debating, avoiding, and wrestling with the question "West Coast vs. East Coast?" we settled on an answer: we'd do both! We sold our house in Rhode Island, flew to California, picked up the dog, and headed for Maine. On the drive across the country, we stopped in Colorado to visit our favorite jeweler. After a nerve-filled brunch, we shared a lovely appointment at the showroom, picked out rings for one another, toasted champagne, went for a hike, then drank the night away in search of Boulder's best New York Sour. Sure, the hotel had no hot water and Caroline came down with the flu - but it can't be romance all the time, right? In sickness and in health...
We're excited to celebrate with you! Bring your dancing shoes and your lobster bibs! We can't wait to feel your love and support, and we expect to hear some serious hootin' and hollerin'... including during the ceremony itself. August 4, 2018 | Stonington, ME Billings Diesel & Marine
