Lake of Como
Visit the many historic towns around the lake including Como, Lecco, Verenna and Bellagio. Take a ferry ride across the lake or hike to one of the peaks of the pre-alps that surround the lake.
Lecco
Visit the tranquil waterfront and a take a stroll in the historic city center of this small town, known for the famous Italian novel "I Promessi Sposi" by Alessandro Manzoni and for her industrial relevance in the XIX and XX century.
Piani d'Erna cable car
Take the cable car up Piani d'Erna to enjoy a spectacular view from this natural terrace over Lecco and the lake. The cab car leaves from Lecco.
Varenna
Visit Varenna to experience the tranquility of this jewel on the lake. If you enjoy boating, you can rent a kayak in Varenna historic harbor and paddle on the lake. Reach it by car, train or ferry.
Villa Monastero
Visit this beautiful XIX century Villa and its magnificent gardens to get a taste of what life on the lake for the rich and famous must be like.
Castello di Vezio
Enjoy the visit of this XII century castle, from where you can admire the beautiful view over Bellagio and the lake and you might be able to assist a falconry demonstration while you enjoy the scenery.
Bellagio
Probably the most famous place around the lake. Reach this beautiful gem from Lecco by boat.
Ville on the Lake
Tour some of the Villas, either on the West side or the East side of the lake.
Abbazia di San pietro al monte
Exceptionally well preserved monastery complex, an absolute gem from the XI century. Future UNESCO site? 1 hour hike to get there.
Abbazia di Piona
XIII century monastery, located on the lake, where to admire the beautifully preserved cloister and chapel, and to support the friars' activities and arts.
Orrido di Bellano
A Gorge that you can walk through in Bellano, directly on the lake
Mandello del Lario
Enjoy the Mandello waterfront and don't miss the Guzzi Museum, mandatory visit if you are a biker: Mandello is where the Moto Guzzi was founded.
Valtellina
Valley along the Adda river, at the foot of the Alps where to taste wine (Sassella and Inferno among others), cheese and bresaola.
Milan
For the cathedral, the historical buildings, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele or for shopping, Milan deserves a visit. 45 minutes away by train from Lecco.
Como
Town on the west side of the Lake between the lake and gentle hills
Monza
Pleasant town, north of Milan, where to stroll around, enjoy the city center and do some shopping
Villa Reale di Monza
Beautiful XVIII century Villa with its gardens, built under the Austrian Empire for the Archduke Ferdinand of Austria.
Bergamo citta' alta UNESCO
Don't miss "Citta' Alta", the old town of Bergamo with its narrow streets, gates and impressive Venetian walls. By car or by train only 40 minutes away from Lecco.

Reserve your ticket in advance if you plan to pay a visit to the Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece.

Beautiful panoramic train ride across the Alps, from Tirano to St. Moritz and beyond.
Crespi d'Adda UNESCO
Outstanding example of the 19th and early 20th-century "company towns". The village was conceived in 1869 by Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, a textile manufacturer, and built in 1878 next to the cotton-mill. The residential area was provided with social services and was the first village in Italy to have modern public lighting.
