Stay home! We know it can be frustrating to miss out, but we really do want to keep everyone safe. There is a livestream of the event that you'll be able to tune into. Feel free to reach out to us directly if you want to talk specifics.
If it rains then the ceremony and reception will all be held under the pavilion. Unfortunately, depending on the rain and wind we will likely have to roll down the walls (they are tarp walls) which would effectively make it an indoor space. If it does come to that, we expect guests to wear masks as much as possible throughout the evening. If that setup is beyond your risk comfort level then please do not feel obliged to stay. We understand.
Yes, we have hired a company to facilitate a live stream of the event. The URL will be shared here, and even if you miss it there will be a recording you can watch afterwards. Here is the URL: https://www.towervideophoto.com/live/
Yes. We plan to have the wedding with alterations to certain details that hopefully make it a safe and enjoyable event.
We are working with the venue to accomplish this as much as possible; fortunately we have a lot of space to work with. That being said, please do bring a mask to wear for the inevitable situations in which you are physically close to others. (dancing, getting a drink at the bar, etc) We expect dinner, the bar, and the dance floor to be when social distancing is most difficult to accomplish.
No. Weather permitting, dinner will be served in the open air pavilion (walls will be open) by masked staff. See photo above. Since you cannot wear a mask while eating, we have attempted to draw up seating arrangements that group people together in pods to reduce risk.
Yes. There will be situations where you will be sharing close airspace with others and will need to wear a mask. (dancing, getting a drink at the bar, etc.) We will have multiple cherished loved ones in attendance (of all ages) that are high-risk for respiratory illness; help us keep them safe and give them an opportunity to be a part of the day.
Partially. Our reserved venue, Defiance Ridge Vineyards, consists of an outdoor area and an 'indoor' covered pavilion with walls that can be left open. See photo above. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors while the reception will be served on the pavilion. Weather permitting, the pavilion walls will be left open to have as much fresh air flowing as possible, even if it happens to be a chilly day so dress for the weather! Here are some pictures from other events at the venue to give you an idea of the setup: https://www.savvybridestl.com/rachel-chris https://www.facebook.com/defianceridge/photos/?ref=page_internal
Yes. Dancing will occur on the covered pavilion with walls that can be opened (weather permitting). We plan to make as much space as possible so people can do some distanced dancing. We will also have some non-dancing things to do, and areas to hang out, so people can socialize without the exercise and increased risk.. ;)
No. If you don't feel comfortable attending given the circumstances then please don't feel obligated to attend, we completely understand. We will have a livestream setup as well; the URL will be posted on this website the day of the wedding. Here is the URL: https://www.towervideophoto.com/live/
