We met in San Francisco at the restaurant where we both worked. I was a cocktail waitress, Alex was a server, and somewhere between refills and table numbers we started noticing each other. One night I asked him to meet me across the street at a bar after work… and he actually showed up lol. Not long after, we moved in together and started building a life rooted in loyalty, laughter, and choosing each other every single day. We moved to San Diego (my hometown), where we were very in love and very broke, what I lovingly call our “character-building era.” Later we made our way to Maui, where Alex had lived when he was 18 and had been trying to get back to ever since. Honestly, it was all he talked about so eventually we listened. Eight years later, we’ve grown up together, learned each other’s hearts, and built a life we’re incredibly proud of.
