For our out-of-town guests wanting to get a taste of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Buffalo Trace is one of our favorite tours in the area. It is about 30 minutes outside of Lexington and is a great place to visit or book a guided tour with.
Castle and Key is another great Bourbon trail stop. This is a newer distillery that also produces gin and vodka. It is a great atmosphere and is about 30 minutes outside of Lexington.
James E Pepper is a great Bourbon Trail stop that is in Lexington. Their tours give a great history and tasting and it is in one of our favorite areas- the distillery district.
This is another great Bourbon Trail stop in Lexington. They brew great beers in addition to bourbon and give a great tour and tasting.
The distillery district is one of our favorite places to hang out and pop around on a day off. It is full of great bars, breweries, and James E Pepper Distillery. Goodfellas is a great spot to watch football, get pizza, and a have great cocktail. Our favorite signature here is the peanut butter tequila! The Burl is a fun place to hang out, and always has a great food truck option.
For our out-of-town guests who want to see part of Horse-country, we highly recommend driving through or booking a tour at Kentucky Horse Park or at Keeneland. While no formal races are being held on our wedding weekend, they are still great places to make a visit, see some horses, and appreciate the beauty of Kentucky!
