Garland Mountain
Garland Mountain Sporting Clays is a recreational clay target shooting park. You can bring your own shotgun or rent one at the facility. It’s located about 10 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and 20 minutes from Canton in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains!
Amicalola Falls State Park
Amicalola Falls is a beautiful State Park with multiple hiking trails a mere 8 miles away from the start of the Appalachian Trail in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The main attraction is a 729 foot waterfall - the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River - that you can climb to the top of. There is also a lodge, restaurant, and naturalist activities in the park. The park is located about 45 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and an hour from Canton.
Burt’s Farm
Burt’s Farm is a notable North Georgia Attraction. The farm is known for their pumpkins and squash, but also hosts many activities such as hayrides, animated pumpkin chats, and a market and bakery that sells homemade goods and fresh produce. Located only 5 minutes from Amicalola Falls, the pumpkin farm is great family experience!
Iron Mountain Park
Iron Mountain is off-road vehicle park with over 150+ miles of scenic trails to drive on! You can rent side by sides, ATV’s, and dirt bikes, or bring your Jeep to participate. The park has a restaurant and camping area to explore as well. Iron Mountain is about 45 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and an hour from Canton.
B.J. Reece Orchards
B.J. Reece Orchards is one of the oldest and most prominent Apple orchards in North Georgia. It’s also where the bride and groom had their engagement photos taken! You can shop in the market and bakery for fresh seasonal produce, fried pies, and other homemade goods, or you can participate in the many farm activities such as petting zoos, hayrides, apple cannons, and more! And of course, you must walk through the orchards where you can pick and take home your own apples.
Reece’s Cider Company
Make sure to visit one of the bride and groom’s favorite spots! The Cider House is connected to B.J. Reece’s Apple Orchard, and uses the apples and fruit grown on the farm to create their own hard ciders. The outdoor covered patio, live music, and food trucks make it the perfect place to kick back after visiting the Apple orchards. Additionally, there are non-alcoholic Apple ciders so the kids feel welcome too! The bride and groom recommend you try the Granny Smith, Frostbite, and Ol’ Red.
Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard and Winery
This winery is located in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains and has a spectacular selection of wines to choose from. They have live music and a food truck on weekends and also offer vineyard tours. The bride and groom recommend ordering the blackberry wine out of one of their famous chocolate glasses! This winery is about 30 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and 45 minutes from Canton.
Big Door Vineyards
Big Door is a local vineyard and winery that offers a wide selection of wines, wine slushies, charcuterie boards, and sandwiches. It has a large outdoor area near the pond as well as a cozy lodge. The bride and groom recommend ordering a glass of Blue Velvet blueberry wine. Big Door is about 20 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and Canton.
Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club
Rent a house in the neighborhood or come by to check out some of the fun activities Lake Arrowhead has to offer! The neighborhood has multiple hiking trails, pickleball and tennis courts, a golf course, a restaurant, and of course, a lake for boating, fishing, swimming!
