Your health, safety and peace of mind are the most important things to us. So we are grateful to everyone in attendance for providing us with your proof of vaccination. We can confirm that ALL guests at the wedding are 100% vaccinated (and in some cases boosted). Thank you for helping us to make this a safe and wonderful weekend!
Yes! The vast majority of employees at the Union are already vaccinated. Additionally, all on-site staff will be masked throughout the wedding (regardless of their vaccination status).
First of all, thank you so much! Having you here means the world to us. If you're flying in, we HIGHLY recommend you go to Santa Barbara Regional Airport (SBA). Depending on where you're coming from, you may need to take a connecting flight. From there, Los Alamos is a beautiful 1-hour drive. The next closest airport is Los Angeles (LAX). If you choose to fly in there, Los Alamos is a 2.5-hour drive up the coast (and, once you hit Ventura, is also quite scenic). Contact us directly if you have any questions or want specific tips -- we've made this trip a bunch!
Gorgeous. It's one of the reasons we love it here. Headed north from Santa Barbara, you can take the 101 up the coast straight to Los Alamos (exit 154). Or you can take CA-154 highway through the San Marcos pass by Lake Cachuma (which will take you to the same exit). Both routes are beautiful (though we're partial to Lake Cachuma!)
Short answer: we party! Long answer: we'll be hosting a welcome reception for everyone at The Maker's Son. There are a bunch of great (like, really great...) places to eat in town that we recommend you check out for dinner beforehand. PRO-TIP: if you're planning to have dinner in Los Alamos before coming by the welcome party, we encourage you to *make a reservation* in advance. The local spots are great and, thus, popular. Check out our THINGS TO DO page for recommendations on some great places to eat Friday night!
Sadly, no. The 1880 Union Hotel only has a select number of rooms, all of which will be occupied by our wedding party. But we can't wait to share in the rest of what the Union has to offer with everyone on Saturday!
Good question -- no, there is not. If you're staying somewhere in town, everything is within walking distance. If you're staying at a hotel outside of Los Alamos, you should plan on driving to the ceremony (Ubers and ride share are hard to come by up here).
Yep! There is ample parking along Bell St., and there's a lot next to the Union Hotel for our guests.
Let's call it "wine country chic." Translation: wear your swankiest, loveliest cocktail attire!
Usually, beautiful. At this time of year it can also get chilly after dark -- so we recommend everyone bring a jacket or throw for the evening. But don't worry, we'll also have plenty of space heaters on-site.
Of course. Please let us know of any special dietary restrictions when you RSVP.
A bit early, if you don't mind. The ceremony starts at 4:00pm, so aim to be at the Union around 3:30/ 3:45.
Go for it! Just know that much of the ceremony and reception will be outside/ on grass. As for dancing, that will be outside as well and the dance floor is made of brick. So maybe bring a pair of socks or sandals along if you want to ditch the heels and dance all night.
Alas, no. As much as we would love to see all of our youngest friends and family members, this party is for the parents only. If you are planning on attending and want to bring your baby or young child along for the trip, we can recommend a few great babysitters and services in the area! Feel free to reach out to us directly!
A whole bunch of stuff! The big attractions around here are the amazing wineries, some truly great local restaurants, antiquing (yes!) and generally relaxing California-style.
