FAQs

We know that traveling for a wedding can come with extra questions. We've gathered helpful details here to make planning your trip to Jekyll Island as easy as possible.
Question

When are the RSVP deadlines?

Answer

Please book your room by June 15, 2026 and RSVP by July 1, 2026.

Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Our wedding will be in Jekyll Island, Georgia at Jekyll Island Club Resort. This is a historic property right on the coast with plenty to explore while you're there.

Question

How do I get to Jekyll Island if I'm flying?

Answer

The closest airport is Jacksonville International Airport a little over an hour away. You can also fly into Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport about an hour and a half away. From there, renting a car is the easiest option to get to Jekyll Island Club Resort. Once you arrive, there is a small toll to enter Jekyll Island (around $8 per car).

Question

Do I need a car once I'm on the island?

Answer

It could be helpful, but not required. The entire island is bike and golf cart friendly, and Jekyll Island Club Resort offers a shuttle around the property. That said, if you want to get to the beaches and restaurants across the island, having a car might make things quicker and easier.

Question

What's the weather like in August?

Answer

Hot, humid, and very "coastal summer". Expect temps in the high 80s to low 90s. Lightweight fabrics, breathable outfits, and staying hydrated are going to be key to stay comfortable. Afternoon showers are likely, but they tend to pass quickly.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The attire for the wedding is formal. It will be hot out, so think colorful, airy materials. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be on grass, so block heels or wedges might be helpful. More detail and inspiration can be found on Pinterest here: https://pin.it/5cG21a4oT

Question

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The Night Before Party will be outdoor as well as the ceremony and cocktail hour. The reception will be indoor. We promise it will be worth it, but plan for warm weather.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying at Jekyll Island Club Resort to be in walking distance to all of the festivities. We have more information and the link to book with a discounted rate on the Travel page on this website.

Question

What is there to do on Jekyll Island?

Answer

A lot more than you might think! Some of our favorites: - Bike the island loop. It's flat and scenic. - Visit Driftwood Beach. Unique and photo-worthy. - Relax by the pool or on the beach. - Golf or pickleball at the resort.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

One of our favorite things about Jekyll Island Club Resort is how walkable or easily accessible everything is on the island. Since most, if not all guests, are encouraged to stay at the resort we will not be personally providing anything outside of what the resort or island already provide to get around.

Question

Are there restaurants nearby?

Answer

Yes! There are several great spots on the resort and island. We like The Wharf, Tortuga Jacks, and Eighty Ocean Kitchen and Bar.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Due to limitations from the venue, we are not able to accommodate any not listed on the official wedding invitations.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving on Friday, August 21, so you have enough time to get settled and attend our Night Before Party. Check in time is 4:00 p.m., so please plan accordingly.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! With the limited space in our venue, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration.

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

Summer showers in this location happen. We have backup locations in place, so everything will run smoothly no matter what.

Question

What's the vibe of the weekend?

Answer

Relaxed, intimate, and fun. We want this to feel like a getaway with our favorite people, so come ready to unwind, explore a little, and celebrate!

Question

I have food allergies. How do I make sure the chef takes care of these?

Answer

Text Ashley! We are being extra careful with these requests and will make sure our planner and chef see/accommodate for them.
