In August 2024, Alyssa went to a back-to-school happy hour with her co-workers where she shared her frustration with the dating apps. The next day, Alyssa's co-worker, Krissy, texted her saying it was her cousin Nick's birthday and she realized they would be perfect for each other! Two days later Nick texted Alyssa and they realized they had a bunch in common! A few days later on August 9th, they had their first date at Madtree Brewing and the rest is history! Throughout 2024 and 2025 they went on weekly date nights to places like Fretboard Brewing, Factory 52, trivia nights, and finding new restaurants and breweries to try out all around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. They traveled to Red River Gorge, Hocking Hills, Destin, and Hawaii together. They spent a lot of time getting to know each other, bonding with each other's families, and enjoying time together at Nick's family's lake house. On November 22, 2025, Nick told Alyssa they were going to start looking at rings and visit a few stores. They did their usual Saturday night church routine, but this week they went to Holy Cross Immaculata overlooking all of Cincinnati because as Nick said, "That church is close to one of the ring stores." Leaving church, they went to the overlook to see the sunset over the skyline and Nick proposed! Alyssa was genuinely shocked, surprised, and very overjoyed!
