High school sweethearts over here! At a confident 16 years old, Sophomore Sam would walk to Freshman Max's locker every day between classes to chat and flirt, given the two not having any classes together. This worked in Max's favor, as she already had a slight (ok, huge) crush on Sam, who, at the time, she only knew as her brother's friend. Sam would make origami in class, such as paper swans, and give them to Max when he'd see her in the hallways. And. It. Worked. Although Max tried to play it cool, she eventually told her friends at her 15th birthday party that she was head over heels for Sam. At the know-it-all age of 17, Max and Sam would talk about their inevitable future together and laugh at how crazy it was that they had it all figured out. Hey, 17-year-olds are wiser than you think!
Sam and Max traveled to Nashville for the weekend with Sam's family. Little did Max know, Sam had some very big plans for that weekend. On Saturday morning, Sam, Max, and Sam's family walked to Acme Feed and Seed, a staple in Nashville, for brunch. Sam suggested that he and Max walk upstairs to take a look at the gorgeous 360° views of Nashville. Right as Anna was about to take Sam and Max's picture on the rooftop, Sam got down on one knee and asked Max to marry him. As if that wasn't perfect enough, when Sam and Max went back downstairs to share the great news, Max's family was there to surprise her and celebrate with everyone. The Hangers and Hoerners spent the rest of the day exploring Broadway and dancing to live music. It was the most memorable day.
