Our story began when we were just 17, in the strange and quiet early days of COVID. With school online and the world on pause, our relationship started with FaceTime calls, endless Snapchat videos, and the kind of conversations that made time feel like it was standing still. When we were finally allowed to see each other in person, our “dates” meant long walks outside, hammocking in parks, and taking our dogs out just for an excuse to spend a little more time together. Even then, it felt like something real was starting. When we headed to the University of Minnesota, our relationship grew alongside us. We made new friends, found new routines, and built a life we loved — together and as individuals. Studying abroad became one of the most meaningful chapters of our relationship. Not only did we strengthen our bond, but we also built friendships that became family. Fun fact: Zach had actually planned to propose while we were abroad… until Hannah (without knowing!) went on a heartfelt tangent about how someday she couldn’t wait to see both of their families immediately after getting engaged. So he tucked the ring away, saved the moment, and chose something even better. On July 13th, 2024, at Split Rock Lighthouse, he proposed — and the next day surprised her with a full engagement party back home, with family and friends who flew and drove in to celebrate. Now, nearly six years later (with our six-year anniversary the day after our wedding!), we’ve spent the past year and a half enjoying engagement, growing together, traveling the world, and soaking in every moment of this season. Through it all, our families and closest friends have been the heart of our relationship — supporting us, celebrating with us, and shaping the couple we’ve become. We can’t wait to start this next chapter surrounded by the people who mean the world to us, and to celebrate a love story that’s only just getting started.
