We're Getting Married!

The story of Phil and Katie began during a time when the world was trying its best to keep people away from one another. They both thought it a brilliant time to meet someone on-line without really meeting them. Without the hassles of dates and the pressures of presence and the ever-awkward newness. Like many of us, they were just aiming to find that simple connection. That spark. That fun banter. Someone walking a similar path who appreciates and loves life, practices gratitude, and has a kind-hearted spirit. Phil and Katie found all that and more in one another immediately. In typing and talking they quickly discovered fun similarities and in-depth looks at life. Infatuation was instant. Spirited banter and constant conversation went back and forth from the end of October, 2020 well into November of the same year. Finally, with their schedules aligned, they arranged a date: Friday, November 20th, 7am in a Spanish Village By The Sea. Phil and Katie walked a few San Clemente blocks to a local coffee shop. They sat outside under bright blue sky, sipped coffee, and began their journey. Phil, looking in her spring-green eyes and stealing peeks of the Pacific, was nervous. Katie of course was calm and cool in her way, laughing at his silly one-liners, and joining in seamless, consistent conversation. Slow and quick, things evolved. Phil and Katie were elated and thankful to have found each other. Infatuation launched them into love. Friends and family met. Roads and skies were traveled. Long term realizations were rhythmic in their minds. Laughter was abundant. Boxes were moved, lives were re-arranged, and their respective tunes simply played. In June of 2023 the couple found themselves with friends in a foreign country – and Katie found Phil on a bent knee. She said yes. And the rest, dear friends, is recent history.
