If we're being totally honest, before we met we had both given up on a dwindling and disappointing dating pool. We were comfortable with being single. However, that was soon to change: in October of 2016 we both attended a mutual friend's birthday party at a pub in Boston. Ashley didn't know too many folks, having recently moved to back to Boston from New York. But being Ashley, she bounded over to introduce herself to all these new people! She was immediately drawn to Bill, who spoke to her warmly and they quickly hit it off over mutual interests - horror movies and a love of the X-Men Saturday morning cartoon (yes, they both knew the theme song). The next day, Ashley smoothly asked him out.
Bill had been scheming for quite some time, not only designing a gorgeous custom ring, but also planning a romantic and personalized proposal. We share a mutual love of astronomy and inspiration struck when Bill discovered that the International Space Station would be flying over the East Coast - and would be highly visible - on Friday, September 20th. He knew what he was going to do and casually suggested a stargazing session to Ashley. That warm evening, we grabbed a blanket and bottle of wine. We camped out in the middle of Pequossette Park in Belmont and stargazed, snuggling close, enjoying the Space Station flight. Then Bill started reminiscing about the evolution of our relationship, beginning with our first date, to our warm home and loving (and lucky) partnership. After sharing how meaningful and important our relationship was to him, he got on one knee and asked Ashley to marry him. Ashley followed suit, wrapping her arms around him and covered his cheeks with kisses as she happily said Yes, Yes, Yes!
