If you do not want to go the hotel route, feel free to check out Airbnb and Vrbo. Both of these websites have great options for renting a place to stay wherever you'd like in the Bay Area! Travel Note
There are many options for a car rental if that is something you are interested in. Each website from the airport should have information regarding renting a car at or near that airport. We also recommend looking into Turo. Turo is like Airbnb, but for cars. That being said, it's a carsharing company where you can also rent cars. If you're not looking to renting a car, Uber is a great way to get around without having to drive yourself. CalTrain is also a good option to get to your hotel or Airbnb from the airport.
