We wanted a venue that was in the mountains of western North Carolina close the Appalachian Trail with a rustic and earth conscious vibe. Paint Rock Farm is a lovely farm that checked all the boxes for us, just minutes from Hot Springs, NC where the Appalachian Trail passes through on the sidewalk. We also eventually want to retire in Hot Springs so we thought it fitting to get married here.
We're keeping it relatively small with no more than 50 guests.
If your Save the Date post card indicates your name + Guest or has both you and your spouse or partner listed then you can bring a guest. Otherwise we respectfully ask that you don't bring a guest in order to keep our guest count at 50 or less.
This is a pretty casual affair so doesn't need to be fancy. Wear what feels comfortable to you! Definitely check the weather for Hot Springs, NC leading up to the wedding to see if extra layers might be needed (it can be chilly in the mountains in spring) or if there is rain in the forecast.
The glamping cabins at PRF can accommodate 24-34 people so all our guests won't be able to stay on site with us. We're reserving the cabins for those traveling from out of town that don't mind the rustic, no electricity or personal bathroom setup of these cabins. If you're coming from out of town and your Save the Date didn't indicate we've saved a spot for you at the farm, or you prefer not to stay on the farm, you can check out the Travel page of our wedding website for recommended accommodations in Hot Springs & nearby.
If you're staying in one of the glamping cabins or camping at Paint Rock Farm Friday and Saturday nights we'll let you know what specific cabin number you're assigned to the day or two before or when you arrive. Don't forget a headlamp! These cabins do not have electricity. Our senior dog, Aspen, will be there, but we're not allowing guests to bring their dogs to the event.
As you may know, we're both proudly sober and so our wedding weekend will be a sober event. We ask that guests please respect our request that no drugs or alcohol be consumed while at Paint Rock Farm during our wedding weekend. We will have tasteful mocktails and other delicious non-alcoholic drinks available.
Smoking is allowed around campfires only. Cigarette butts must be disposed of in a proper receptacle and may not be disposed of in fire pits or cabin trash cans. Evidence of smoking including cigarette butts or smell of smoke in cabins will result in a fine for the wedding couple.
