We are planning to take this hike Saturday morning after the wedding. Anyone who wants to stick around and hike it with us is welcome. It is a long hike, but the view at the end is worth it.
Beautiful drive through the park, and if you have better luck than us, you should be able to see lots of animals along the way.
Very neat drive through the park. Small cars make for a much less stressful drive than a large pickup.
Honestly, there are just so many beautiful hiking trails through the park, and we definitely recommend you find one to hike while you are there. This one is a fairly easy hike if you have small children or don't want to walk as far. Little Devils tower is also great, with some minor rock climbing mixed in.
This place is incredible: The food, the atmosphere, all of it. They are well on their way to a Michelin star, so be prepared to pay for that level of food and experience. Reservations required, but if you are planning to show up early or stay through Saturday night, it is a great place for a special date night.
This is in Hot Springs, not Custer, but if your travels take you through or past Hot Springs, we highly recommend spending a couple hours here. It is wonderfully relaxing and beautiful. They do require reservations, but it is generally not too difficult to find a time to go. We love to go first thing in the morning, while the air is cool. It makes the warm water feel even more relaxing. Note: it is adults only. If you are looking for a fun experience for the children in the Hot Springs, try Evan's Plunge.
