We're finally tying the knot!

Being in small town Dunnellon, there are only so many options for schools and friends. We went to the same middle school and had mutual friends. We started talking a lot the summer before my 8th grade year. A close friend of ours, Tyler Powell, set us up. I received a phone call from Tyler at at 3am in the morning, who told me he was at Houston's (Houston was "asleep") and how Houston really liked me and was so cool. Not five minutes go by and somehow I get a phone call from Houston asking if I wanted to finally go out. Being that we were 13 and 14 years old at the time, that was how things were done, so I said yes. The next day, he showed up to our championship district softball game and I pitched my best game ever. I knew then, he was my lucky catch!

We decided to get away for the weekend in Orlando, FL to escape our busy lives for a little. We spent it mostly at Disney since we had passes. The Food and Wine Festival was also going on that weekend, so we had to go. We spent the night broadening our taste buds by tasting food and drinks from around the world. We sat by the lake and watched Epcot's World-Case Fireworks show. Once the show was over Houston insisted on waiting for the crowd to clear so we wouldn't have to fight getting out. We got to Hawaii, in front of the lake that reflected the lights of all the surrounding worlds and I stopped to look at how beautiful it was. I turned around to see Houston FINALLY on his knee. I looked at him, tears in my eyes, and asked, "are you sure?" He shook his head, and said "I am positive." Eight years later, we're finally engaged!
