Our story is not one that is super interesting, but it is a little funny.. so enjoy reading! The two of us met towards the end of 2016 while working at our first jobs, PDQ. Jared worked in the kitchen and prepped food, while Jamie worked as a cashier. Jared had been working at PDQ for quite some time, and was even a lead for the ‘back of house’ staff. Jamie started working there in September of 2016, not talking to very many people since it was her first job, but one night she took her break and sat at the counter top of the restaurant, along with Jared and another coworker. The two started asking Jamie questions about herself to get to know her since she was new. One of those questions being if she was single.. Turns out she wasn’t, but that didn’t stop Jared from keeping an eye out. A month or two goes on, the two only know each other as coworkers, until one day Jared comes up to Jamie while she’s in the back of the restaurant kitchen area, and asks her how to spell, ‘parmesan.’ …Yes, like, parmesan the cheese. He had portioned out parmesan cheese that night while he was food prepping, and claimed he ‘didn’t know how to spell the word’... so he says. Sounds like more of a reason just to talk to her if you ask me... He thought it was spelled out as ‘parme-sam’.. which is incorrect lol. So, now the running joke in our relationship and family that has stuck for years is we don’t call it ‘parmesan’, it’s ‘parme-sam’. Now that you have that information in your head, you can start calling it that too and think of us everytime you see it or eat it! ;) After this strange interaction occurred, eventually Jared managed to give Jamie his number as a friend and said to her, “here’s my number if you ever need anything.” With Jamie being oblivious, she thought it was just a nice gesture of Jared to do so, giving that he was a lead after all, and she was new to the job. Well, that clearly was just a way for him to get in, and..well.. it definitely worked! In November 2016, Jamie ended her existing relationship, and the very next day Jared and Jamie went on their first date. I guess you could say there was no time to wait! After all, Jared had been waiting for that faithful moment since September. Being that Jamie just came out of a relationship, she was not interested in getting into a new one, but enjoyed Jareds company and hanging out with him as a friend. The dates and hanging out continued for 3 months, just as friends. Jared came to a conclusion that she wasn’t interested in dating him and was ok with that since he still really liked her as a person. Little did he know, Jamie had secretly liked him since their first date, but never let him see it. She knew he was a keeper when he opened her car door for her loading up into his car that night, where no one had ever done that for her in the past. She was taken away and didn’t know how to react to such a simple, but sweet gesture. Jamie never let him know she actually really liked him the whole 3 months they hung out as friends because she wanted to see how long he would stick around before giving up the idea about dating. And he never did. He never once acted like he was in it for a girlfriend. Jared genuinely cared for her as a person, and was ok with her not being into him in that way. Well.. after allllll that… one day Jamie finally caved in, and decided it was time to finally make it known to Jared that she did in fact, like him. She asked him to hangout with her just as they normally would, and then that night they finally had their first kiss! Only took 3 months! Little did we know, the two of us would go from working as coworkers in a chicken fast food restaurant, to getting engaged 6 years later. And here we are almost 8 years later, having a wedding that we can’t wait to have you all there for! :) We look forward to seeing you!!!! And thank you for being apart of this journey with us.
