We're getting married!

Megan and Daniel’s story is one that began long before they even realized it. Both grew up attending Gurnee Community Church (GCC), with their families closely connected for years. While they knew of each other, their paths didn’t cross much as children, and their connection remained casual. Everything changed in the summer of 2023. After spending several months away at school, Daniel was feeling disconnected, so he returned to GCC seeking community. Little did he know, the group he joined for Bible study would bring him something far more meaningful—Megan. Suddenly, seeing her felt different. She was not only fun and easy to talk to but also undeniably beautiful. And wait… they were adults now, so why not ask her out? Plus, Daniel was pretty sure Megan was dropping some major hints. So, he gathered his courage and finally decided to ask her on a date. Could this really be happening? Megan, however, wasn’t quite on the same page. Growing up together made the idea of dating Daniel feel a little too weird. So, she said no. Heartbroken, Daniel quickly fled to New Zealand. But, as time passed, Megan couldn’t shake the thought of him. She began to wonder if maybe she made a mistake by turning Daniel down. So, Daniel eventually returned to the states, and now, Megan was different. Seriously, this time, he’s sure. Hints here, hints there, hints everywhere. But Daniel kept it lowkey—we all know how it went the first time. Luckily, it wasn’t long until Megan picked up the phone one summer evening to ask, “Is that date still on the table?” And the rest is history. The two enjoyed a first date mini-golfing at Par King, followed by sharing dessert at The Cheesecake Factory. On October 1st, after several dates, hiking trips, and frequent long drives to visit Megan, Daniel asked Megan to be his girlfriend. She happily said “yes!” Then, after over a year of dating, on December 13th, Daniel asked Megan if she would spend a lifetime together. She happily said “yes!” Now it’s time for both of them to say, “I do”!
