Our story began in the most modern of ways—online. As strangers, we met for drinks and dinner at a local brewery (Peter is quick to remind everyone that Emily was 6 minutes late....) and connected in a way we never connected before. Then between grad school and kids, it was tough to schedule a second date and we kept our distance. It wasn't until about a month after our first date, and only communicating via texts, when Peter threw a hail Mary and invited Emily to a second date: a trip to the Winter Classic NHL game in MetLife stadium. Despite getting over the flu, Emily thought that going to a hockey game 3 hours away with a sort of stranger was a great idea (mainly because the Jonas Brothers were performing) and it was! Ever since that date, we were locked in. We became the best of friends and our love took off. We now share a mutual love of adventure, sports, game nights, and quiet nights in (dare I say a mutual love for the Jonas Brothers too?!). We can't wait to continue to grow with each other and share our love with our village (:
