Back in 2020, Travis was making popular TikTok videos showing the world his retro lifestyle in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. One of his videos, where he was showing his viewers how to use a 1950’s O’Keefe & Merritt stove, showed up on Emily’s “For You Page” 2,430 miles away in her hometown of New City, New York. Emily was immediately taken with this cute boy with a shared love for history. She quickly became a “super fan” and commented on his videos until she caught his attention (it worked). After exchanging numbers and many long FaceTime conversations, Emily got on a plane and flew from New York to Tucson to meet Travis in January 2021. The connection they first felt online matched in person, and they spent those four days in January going on many “first” dates, including a trip to the Ignite Neon Sign Art Museum, the Ostrich Ranch, Tombstone, and Roadhouse Cinemas for a showing of “The Notebook.” They became official after her second visit to Arizona the following month on Valentine’s Day. They started their relationship long distance with countless phone calls, Snapchats, and FaceTimes until Emily could finally make the move out to the desert that summer, and the rest is history!
