FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kara Hines and Jeremy Slicer
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to dress in cocktail or semi-formal attire, preferably with one of the colors in our color palette shown above. We have a small group of our favorite people and we look forward to including everyone in our wedding photos!

Question

Should I be concerned about altitude sickness?

Answer

Estes Park sits at about 7,500 feet above sea level, so guests traveling from lower elevations may experience mild altitude symptoms, which usually resolve within the first day. Make sure to stay hydrated and consider arriving early to spend a day acclimating in Denver.

Question

How do I enter Rocky Mountain National Park?

Answer

Entry to the park typically requires both a purchased entry pass and a timed entry reservation. The entry pass can be purchased at the front gate and is $30 per vehicle. Because we have a permit for the ceremony, guests will not be required to obtain the timed entry reservation. We will hand out physical copies of the permit at the welcome party that you can show at the gate the next day.

Question

Is there hiking involved to get to the ceremony spot?

Answer

The Hidden Valley trail is wheelchair accessible with a flat gravel path. The ceremony spot is about a quarter mile from the parking lot and will be held just off the trail in the grass. Ladies may want to keep this in mind when picking their shoes!

Question

Is there a backup plan in the event that it rains?

Answer

We plan to have the ceremony outdoors rain or shine. We will have umbrellas available for guests in the event of rain. That said, it does not rain often in Estes Park in September, and we’re hoping the odds are in our favor :)

Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

Our group was not large enough for a hotel block but there are several options in the area. If you would like help choosing accommodations feel free to ask us! We are staying in an Airbnb along the main downtown strip of Estes Park. September is peak season in Colorado so it’s best to book sooner rather than later.
