FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 1st via our form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSch3_-ov_HdXYcWzjVGNUoRZVtqlyEnvlW76fOk0co5RmDLuQ/viewform

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We’ve kept the dress code flexible throughout the weekend, with details listed by event on the schedule page. In general, guests are welcome to wear either Western or Indian attire, and we encourage everyone to choose outfits they feel comfortable in while celebrating with us. Please note that on the 24th, there will not be time to change between events following the baraat, so we recommend planning attire that will work comfortably from the morning through the ceremony and into the reception. Other events across the weekend will be more relaxed, including casual attire for welcome and brunch gatherings. Overall, the goal is comfort, ease, and celebration - we want you to enjoy the weekend without worrying too much about formality or outfit changes!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, kids are welcome! We'll have activities available throughout the weekend.

Question

Answer

Please note any food allergies in the RSVP form. We will have plenty of options available for all sorts of dietary restrictions and allergies.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Question

Answer

Yes, we will provide shuttles to and from the Canopy by Hilton Jersey City Arts District hotel, which is next to the Residence Inn and close to Grove St station.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, there are a few informal moments throughout the weekend in addition to the main events listed in the schedule. On Friday, October 23, light bites along with coffee and tea will be available for all guests from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM at their convenience. Optional henna will be available for guests from 2:00–5:00 PM. This is a drop-in offering rather than a scheduled event. We also have a welcome party from 6:00-9:00 PM. On Saturday, October 24, brunch will be available for all guests in the morning before the wedding (not a formal event), and the day will continue through the baraat, ceremony, reception, and evening celebration. On Sunday, October 25, we’ll host a farewell brunch for anyone who would like to join us one last time before heading out.

Question

Do I need to attend all events?

Answer

No, please join us for as many or as few events as you’re able!

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

While the ceremony is planned to be outdoors, in the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors at the same venue (Liberty House). If the ceremony is outdoors, we will also provide heat lamps, blankets and indoor spaces to warm up.
