Seth was working on the rigs in West Texas and Sydney was out to dinner with Rachel LeDoux. After a bottle (or two or three) of wine, Rachel was telling Sydney about a guy she grew up with that she thought would make a perfect match for Sydney! After a quick exchange of phone numbers, Sydney and Seth spent the night texting. Shout out to our waiter that night who let Sydney use his phone charger to charge her phone and text Seth! A few weeks after texting and phone calls, Seth came home from the rigs and they met! He hosted a game night at his apartment for a group of friends and they have been together ever since.

We were in Banff, Canada to celebrate our friend Kaye’s birthday. We all dressed up to go to a fancy dinner, but first we went on a gondola ride up to Sulpher Mountain. As we were on our way to the gondola, it started pouring rain. Everyone we were with was quietly panicking and buying ponchos from the gift shop. Sydney didn’t understand why everyone was worrying about a little rain! We got up to the mountain and the rain cleared up. We walked down the boardwalk for some pictures and we were facing the mountains. Seth started talking and Sydney interrupted him (sounds about right) and when she turned around, he was down on one knee. The rest of the night was spent crying, laughing, calling loved ones, and LOTS of champagne!
